Samples of Bobbin Lace Made with Syscom Metal Clad Amber Strand Thread

 
I’ve been testing Syscom Advance Materials Amber Strand Conductive Thread in my lace making to create decorative eTextile trims.
 

 
From left to right:
All white sample is all cotton
Red and green with two rails on each wise is all cotton
Red and green single rails on each side has one conductive thread bobbin.
White with two side rails on each side with two bobbins of conductive thread.
 

 
As you can see the more conductive thread used in the lace the more the trim wants to curl upon itself. When using this conductive lace you will need to anchor it so that the positive and negative traces don’t touch causing the eTextile trim to short circuit.
